The Role Maritime Systems Division, within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, is seeking a professional, motivated and experienced Contracts Manager to provide support to the Commonwealth Government's continuous naval shipbuilding projects. Maritime Systems Division is one of the most dynamic organisations within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group and offers a rewarding career. The Contracts Manager is responsible for ensuring the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment Systems Program Office (AORSPO) undertakes the contracting and procurement functions within the program office in accordance with legal principles, legislative and mandatory policy compliance obligations. The Contracts Manager will be required to have the ability to plan, analyse and implement continuing procurement requirements. The role will entail implementing procurement related documentation including templates, schedule, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans and strategies, risk and performance reviews, contract change proposals and other contract management documentation. About our Team We are the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment System Program Office (AORSPO). The new replenishment oilers are being built by Spanish shipbuilding company, Navantia, based on the Spanish Navy’s SPS Cantabria auxiliary-oiler replenishment ship. The vessels are intended to carry fuel, dry cargo, water, food, ammunition, equipment and spare parts to provide operational support for the deployed naval or combat forces operating far from the port on the high seas for longer periods. In the fourth quarter of 2021 six commercial vessels and the associated product schedules will be integrated into the program office. In addition to replenishment, the vessels can be used to combat against environmental pollution at sea, provide logistics support for the armed forces, and to support humanitarian operations and relief operations following a natural disaster. We are a diverse workforce which includes Australian Defence Force personnel, Australian Public Servants and Defence Industry Partners. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, negotiation and verbal communication skills will be required to regularly liaise and coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders, including executives, contractors, APS and ADF members. Highly developed written communication skills will be required to review and prepare contract documentation. In addition, our ideal candidate: Will professionally contribute to the development of future procurement strategies to align with ongoing strategic direction; Have the ability to lead, direct and coordinate in a collaborative working environment; Have demonstrated experience in Business Acumen.
